Santa Barbara County will be holding a public hearing with the Planning Commission regarding the adoption of the Agricultural Buffer Ordinance. This is a continued item from the October 3, 2012 Planning Commission hearing.
This evening, the male body found on the beach in the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive this morning was identified as 21 year old David Propp, a UCSB Student, living in Isla Vista. Notification to his family has been made. The investigation that commenced this morning has led investigators to believe that Propp was a victim of a fall.
This morning at 8:42 A.M. the Emergency Communications Center received an Emergency Call of a Subject Down on the Beach below the 6500 block of Del Playa Road. Isla Vista Foot Patrol Station Personnel along with County Fire responded. Isla Vista Foot Patrol Personnel located the subject on the beach and determined that the subject was deceased.
The Kellogg Tennis Courts consist of four courts located on the 600 block of Kellogg Avenue in Goleta. These courts were dedicated to the County of Santa Barbara in the 1960s by the developer of the surrounding community. The courts have provided countless hours of recreational tennis play for the community. Over the years, the courts deteriorated and were in need of repair and renovation.
In celebration of America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, the Santa Barbara County Public Works Department encourages residents to bring old, unwanted electronics to one of the County's free and convenient drop-off sites. Items such as TVs, computers, DVD players, stereos, cell phones, and microwaves can be recycled at no charge at both the South Coast Recycling and Transfer Station and the Santa Ynez Valley Recycling and Transfer Station.

UPDATE: Santa Barbara County Fire Department investigators have determined that the Cold Fire was directly related to human activity. The investigation is ongoing.
An Oxnard man holding two knifes to his throat for hours was taken into custody by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team ( S.E.T.). The incident lasted nearly four hours as deputies negotiated with the subject in attempts to have him put down the knives.
Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rogelio Flores was recently named the 2012 Judicial Officer of the Year by the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC). He will receive the award officially at the CPOC Annual Awards Luncheon being held on December 13, 2012, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California
On Wednesday, November 14, 2012, the Santa Maria Division of the Santa Barbara County Superior Court will host a graduation ceremony to honor military veterans who have successfully completed the Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) program. The event will begin at 2:00 p.m., in Department 7 of the Santa Maria Superior Court and will include community leaders, guest speakers, local service organizations, and representatives from the Veterans Administration (VA). Refreshments will be served.
