Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown was honored yesterday, October 3, 2016, as the recipient of the Sherman Block Law Enforcement Professional of the Year Award. On September 20, 2016 investigators from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau, Santa Barbara Regional Crime Abatement Team and the California Department of Justice, concluded a five-month investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SBCSAR) team members worked throughout the night and until about noon today to locate and rescue a lost hiker.
