The County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) announced that the interactive map designating areas at risk from a debris flow below the Thomas, Whittier and Sherpa burn areas in Santa Barbara County has been updated for this winter's storm season and posted at www.ReadySBC.org.
Members of the Sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau and Compliance Response Team located a wanted felon, 27-year-old Anthony Guzman, who was hiding in the 700 block of N. Miller St. area in the City of Santa Maria.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, Sheriff's Deputies assigned to the Santa Maria Station responded to a call of a suicidal subject who had contacted a hotline saying he had a firearm and wanted Law Enforcement to shoot him. Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area and were eventually able to convince the subject to come out of his residence without the firearm.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. yesterday, November 28, 2018, Sheriff's deputies responded to area of Giovanni's Pizza on Clark Avenue in Orcutt to check the welfare of a subject passed out in a car with the engine running.
