The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has earned accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care by demonstrating compliance with NCCHC's Standards for Health Services in Jails.

Sheriff's detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning at the Indo China Market in the Storke Shopping Center. At approximately 4:23 a.m. on April 13, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the business in the 6800-block of Hollister Avenue for a burglar alarm.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the jail and amongst staff members at the Sheriff's Offices is down to one each. One of the COVID-19 positive inmates have been released and one of the staff members have returned to work.

Santa Barbara County has met the State's Orange Tier case rate and positivity rate for one week. If these metrics are met for one additional week, movement into the less restrictive Orange Tier may take effect as early as Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
